Luis Suarez: the Art of no Deception

2 – 0 down, a struggling Liverpool FC almost resigned to their fate, out of nowhere Luis Suarez wins a free-kick, takes up position in the box and minutes away from the end he stabs one back at the net of Manchester United. He then calmly collects the ball, kisses his ring-finger and then Kisses his Skin as a gesture which tells us of his silent refusal to accept a shameful verdict that has tarnished his image in the world of sports. It's the most mature celebration one can see in recent years. In today's match Suarez showed real class and composure. In fact, throughout the match he looked very focused and determined. It's sad to see King Kenny's midfield failing to rise to the occasion. You often find a lonely Suarez pacing up and down to scale the Man U defence wall. The match failed to live up to the expectations and much of it because of the media hype around Luis Suarez. Media houses have written their scripts and waited eagerly for Suarez to step in their role. Every single step of his is under the scrutiny. One more  mistake he will be gone for sure. So they were trying every trick in their book to induce some errors. They have already labelled this young man, his footballing future hangs in a fine balance now, the whole world sees this man through a coloured lens. And yet he shows no sign of losing his own balance of mind. He ignores the hand of a Saintly person who in turn tries to force the issue by handling him roughly. The aggressive gestures and ridiculous after match celebration cannot be questioned though, after all these antics will not spark off a riot but Suarez's refusal certainly will. We all know Suarez is a potential footballing threat to the United's ambitions. So the old chewing face wants to take full advantage of this situation. The holier than thou attitude of ALEX AND HIS MEN has become so frustratingly comic over all these years that nobody takes him seriously when he delivers these post-match sermons. This hollow claim of high moral ground is a successful myth that the authorities from various realms related to the game have now built around us. Western societies know a trick or two about how to hide their worst intentions/emotions secret. They can certainly 'kiss 'n patch up' and look civil. That's the way they are. So anyone who fails to follow the drawn line becomes a dangerous outcast. Tevez is a classic example before us. Any individual with a strong sense of self will have a difficult time in this world of extremely sane and civil people. Any aberration will be treated with utmost contempt. In a world of machine like people, Suarez is a man. He is neither a saint nor a racist. It is his fallible nature that makes him look so attractive to me. Hope he can breathe easy. We don't want to lose this man who has the balls to be 'different'.
